Breathe easy

Mindfulness: a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.

 Let's just get real for a minute - everyone has those moments, the unexpected and sudden minutes where life becomes so much larger than life itself and the sensation of being overwhelmed begins to feel like it may consume us. Our mind's race as we scramble to stop the feeling that is going to take over and ruin the day. BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE TO. YOU CAN CHANGE THAT. THE FUTURE ISN'T PROMISED, IT CAN ALL CHANGE AND THAT IS SO SCARY BUT MY GOODNESS, THAT IS ALSO SO EXCITING! (...sorry for shouting x). 


I know so may people struggle with this and my advice isn't something that can just fix everyones struggle but we should always try? We should ALWAYS try to fix, to learn, to heal, to grow. The next time you feel a sense of panic, try and picture whatever has caused you to feel anxious as a hole in the ground (like a crappy, void of despair with no end kind of hole) and then visualise yourself looking at the void and acknowledging that it sucks, looks exhausting, painful and a waste of time to fall down that hole, then take a few really deep breaths (its like sending small encouragements to your soul) and then step the f*ck over the hole. I mean step around it, over it, turnaround and go another way but whatever you do - do not feed the thought that you have to be sad, do not feed the notion that you have to anxious, do not feed the idea that the future will be what you have imagined, it can all change in an instant. 

Whatever you're feeling will pass, in the moment it feels like it won't, truly, but we have to try to see the future where this hole doesn't exist anymore, be mindful of your thoughts and feelings. Be mindful of your actions, the way you react to things and change your habits if you're not happy with yourself. Change it. Start today, start now, start here, start with whatever strength you have and it will grow. MAGIC happens when we realise that we have it within ourselves to lead peaceful, mindful lives. There will always be crappy moments but I promise you there will be crazy beautiful, dreamy, surreal moments too. Make this fleeting life worth it, try and see the beauty in your challenges and the next time you begin feeling overwhelmed, try to turn your situation on its head - having 'too much to do' can instantly become 'man, I am so fortunate to have all these opportunities'. 

Try it out - it may do much, it may change your life - either way, its better to breathe easy, be kind to yourself and those you find on your journey.
